Your data, in plain language
Privacy Notice
Who we are. This website is operated by Debbie Halbrook, who is the data controller for personal data collected here. Contact: debbiehalbrook@mail.com.
What we collect and why
- Account email and sign-in records — to create your buyer account, let you sign in without a password, and attach your purchases to you. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
- Purchase records (transaction ID, purchase status, linked account) — to unlock your downloads, keep them available to you, and handle refunds. Legal basis: contract performance and legitimate interests in preventing fraud.
- Learning goals you type into the recommendation form — sent to an AI model to suggest modules. Please avoid private information in that text. Legal basis: consent, which you can withdraw by simply not using the feature.
- Technical data such as IP address and browser type, and coarse request counts — to keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and rate-limit automated misuse. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
Payments
Payment details are collected and processed by Paddle.com as Merchant of Record; they do not flow through our systems. We receive purchase status and the checkout email needed to unlock and recover your downloads.
Who we share data with
- Paddle.com — as our reseller, for the sale, subscription management, payments, tax compliance, and invoicing of your order.
- Service providers — hosting, database, authentication, email delivery, and AI providers that help us run the service.
- Professional advisers (legal, accounting) and authorities where required by law.
How long we keep data
Purchase and account records are kept while your access may still be needed, and for tax and dispute windows, then deleted or anonymised. Request logs are deleted on a rolling basis. Learning-goal texts are not stored beyond the recommendation itself.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, corrections, deletion, restriction of processing, portability, or object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time. Email debbiehalbrook@mail.com and we will respond within one month. If you are in the UK or EEA, you also have the right to complain to your local supervisory authority. Where data leaves the UK/EEA, we rely on safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.
Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, and scoped database permissions so that only what is needed is processed, and paid files are stored privately with short-lived links.
Cookies
We use essential cookies and browser storage for sign-in sessions and keeping your purchase link on your own device. The most recent module recommendation is also saved on your device; your learning-goal text is not saved there. We do not run advertising or third-party analytics cookies.
